I live in Athens, Ohio; it is a lovely college town (Ohio University) in the rolling hills of southeastern Ohio. I received my BFA in Sculpture from OU in 1990 and decided to stay here. I got married and had a son. Now single, I live and make my art in a quiet neighborhood with a cat and a dog.
I work part-time as a studio assistant to another potter and my mentor, Susan Abramovitz of Rock Riffle Run Pottery in Shade, Ohio. I am the founder and current member of the Athens Art Guild, I am on the organizing committee of Ratha Con: Athens Own Pop Culture Convention, and I volunteer with other local arts organizations in Athens and surrounding communities.
I started my business in 2000 and have been building a wide range of customers who appreciate my natural aesthetic. Much of my work is a representation of the research I do - I have a passion for ancient Celtic culture and mythology. I strive to capture its essence in my art. Trees were as sacred to them in the past as they are now to me. Lately, I have added a more fantastical theme to my work with my mushroom faeries (see above). Recently, I have added thrown, functional items, and fiber-related work.
